    I have try to cheese prawn , yesterday .Its delicious , for those want to try the crab rice please call for advance booking , if not u will not get it . Bcos I facing the same problem yesterday.

    From the map given here, it looks very hard to go. I will try to provide you the easiest direction I can get. From North South Highway, take the exit of Ipoh (last time there were Ipoh Utara and Selatan). Upon the exit, you will see a traffic light ahead. Turn right at the traffic light and you will reach another traffic light. Turn right again and you shall see Tesco Extra on your left. Go straight until you pass two traffic lights. Keep going straight till you see the third traffic light. At the third traffic light, turn right and go straight. On the way, you will see a school on your left. It’s just a landmark for you, so keep straight until you see the first fleet of shop on your left (The corner shop is a seafood restaurant). Here, you will see a junction turning left (most probably the first junction to the left after you took the right turn at the traffic light before this), go straight again and you will see a field on your right. In front of the field is Restoran Rasa Lain! Now jump out of the car, order all the good food and savour!
    My highest recommendations are:
    1. Claypot crab su-un (Triple thumbs-up if I had three thumbs)
    2. Fishball
    3. Pomfret porridge
    4. Dried shrimp eggplant

    Guess what.. i drove all the way from other state to try the so-called crab rice.. the taste? as my name indicates.
    OK.. let me explain..
    1) i called to order the crab rice few days ago and being told no such order received when i reached the shop. But, i was still lucky enough to get served with the legendary crab rice.

    2) i had waited long enough and finally the rice served to my table… with very high hope i took the first bite.. the crab.. wasn’t fresh enough you couldn’t taste the crab’s sweetness at all. The rice? i bet any claypot chicken rice stall tastes better than this.

    The place is way very far from the city + expensive crab rice + so-so taste. I would rather they refrain from taking down my order with the call-to-order record no where to be found..

    i was so angry as apparently there is only ONE lady who could be able to take the order and this young lady was not friendly to any customer at all! i was waited for long for the order of food and she came to me and ask me what do i wana to order. i told her that i m interested to order the crab claypot and she told me off rudely and said it is for pre order only and it was not available. i was so shock on her explaination and i explained that i was aware of it and she replied me harshly whether i did call her for pre order and i answered yes when i was on my way to Ipoh from KL but she was not available for my calls. she answered me rudely and said that do you think that i have time and hand to answer to your call? oh my god…. i can’t imagine that we still have this kind of service in this industry! Very disappointed!
    i have no choice to order a few dishes (all the way traveled to there) and all the dishes- the taste was (Garupa fish claypot, Steamed La-La, Salted egg prawns and so on) way below my expectation. Taste was just average but one thing i must admit that the seafood was fresh. Overall rating from 1 till 100 : 65%
    AND WE WILL NOT RETURN BACK TO THAT RESTAURANT AGAIN !

    i was first person arrived at the shop today with my friends all the way from KL. Completely agreed with JL that the girl who take order was very rude. However i enjoyed the food, especially Cheese Prawn, Clay Pot Crab Rice & Fish Ball. But quite expensive. 4 persons ordered Cheese Prawn (6pcs of prawn inside), Clay Pot Crab Rice, Fish Ball, Fish Meat Porridge, Vege & Lala …RM140. Anyway i will come back. Hope change the girl to take order.

    a) Service : minus point..

    - Actually the young girl is very rude,I think alot of u all agreed with me.We actually had done pre-order b4 going there.When after to confirm all the foods we ordered and she said,if now u order not enuf,there will be no adding dishs because they all are busy,Wahlau eh….NVM
    - When our drinks finish,we like to “kah sui” and we ask the auntie to “kah sui” for us,her reaction is just see us and go away and dun do anything.Yes we all know is different boss but atleasts u can reply us self service or what,right.
    - I had notice 1 family never do any pre-order or just walk in cust.The young lady come to take order and ask does they do any pre-order.The guys said no,then the girl said no pre-order means nothing to eat and just walk away.How u all feel,if u been treated like tat.

    In this era,this kind of services is totally unacceptable.

    b) Foods

    Below is the foods we ordered
    - Tung Fun Crab,rating 2 ( dunno how to explain )
    - Cheese Prawn – 5 ( fresh and the cheese is damn nice )
    - Fried Sar Jui fish – 2 ( bec they fried until LOONG )
    - Lala soup – 4 ( The Lala is fresh )
    - Fish ball – 4 ( The mouth feeling is nice and so “tan hau”)

    Overall – 2,because of the service

    I think nowdays when people getting famous,they will nvr think that we’re the customer and we’re the person who give them salary.

    I won’t come back for the 2nd time lor,I always thinks why I should pay for the bad service and we still need to see their face when dinning there.Y I need to “sau hei”

    Axian Yan Ching Mei,maybe b4 they famous lor.

    NOW I DUN THINK THEY HAVE ANY YAN CHING MEI AT ALL.

    My perosnal opinion,how good is your’s food,why we need to “SAU HEI”.

    Hi i jes finish my ipoh trip with my family.
    I knew the place from this tv show. Rasa Lain Restaurant they was famous with the calypot crab rice…
    We was very excited before go there but after we go was totally dissapointed.
    The worker’s face at the restaurant was suck like we go and eat for free…
    I saw a fat botak guys keep going to scold the workers there the most I mad was he scold with the guys said that ‘they din’t have brain but you have!!’ The they in the conversation was meant the consumer there…
    They might have the good business there but not supose to shown the face to the consumer we paid for it!!!!
    My comment was the food is just normal and the worker there was bad

    OUR MONEY IS NOT MONEY,WHY WE NEED TO GIVE OUR HARD EARN MONEY TO THIS KIND OF BAD SERVICE..

    My hometown is in Ipoh & back to there quite often. I tried this stall before, my comment is the food is OK(not very good, but not bad too). The price is above average. But the service is the main reason that you would think twice when you want to step in to this restaurant.

    This restaurant’s service is very bad. We boooked a table for ten since 1 month ago for it. On that day, when we arrived to the place, we are punctual. But due to the crowded customers there, the staff there reluctant to service us and told us that ” FIRST COME FIRST SERVE”. if it is 1st come 1st serve, then there should not be any booking availability, right? After we settled down (finally have a table after half an hour standing waiting there), they refused to make our orders and asked us to wait only. We left it with angry and to have dinner at other place. No matter how good is the food there, if there is no good service to attract the customer, it is useless and it will distract the customer. Pls do not ever going to this place to have seafood, you will regret!

    For the first time, my family total of 5 person visit this stall and found the food was not bad and maybe we reached there early so the service was OK.

    For the second time my family decided to have a reunion dinner at this restaurant. This time we got about 20 people and seperated to 2 tables. We order the same dishes that we first tried and few new dishes, When food arrived it really disappoint us, the quantity of food is as same as the first time we vist, when we complaint to the “lady boss”, she does not appologize or feel little paiseh on this matter additionally she straigth push all the responsibility to the cooker asistant and for the bill it still counted as 20 person. After this incident, we never visit to this stall agian.
